For a Spouse’s Return to Christ
Introduction:
This prayer was submitted anonymously by someone who longs for their husband to return to the Lord. The request is simple: “For my husband to find Christ again.” It carries with it the ache of distance in both heart and spirit, and the hope that the One who pursues the lost will bring him home again.
Guided Prayer:
Lord Jesus,
Today we lift up a man who once knew You, who perhaps walked with You, prayed to You, even served You—and yet now walks at a distance. We don’t know the details, but You do. You know what dimmed the flame. You know the wounds that turned into walls. You know the distractions that became detours.
And still… You are the God who leaves the ninety-nine to go after the one.
We ask You to go after him, Lord. Pursue him—not in anger, but in mercy. Interrupt his days with divine reminders of Your goodness. Stir up memories of prayers once prayed, songs once sung, and moments once shared in Your presence. Let these embers be fanned back into flame.
Remove the lies that whisper “it’s too late” or “you’ve gone too far.” Silence shame. Break through pride. Open his ears to Your voice again, soft and steady, calling him home.
For the one praying this prayer, strengthen them. It’s not easy to wait. It’s not easy to love and intercede while watching someone you care for drift. So we ask that You hold their heart steady. Remind them that their prayers are powerful, that their tears are not in vain, and that their love is a reflection of Yours.
Let this marriage be made whole in every way. Spiritually. Emotionally. Relationally.
May the day come when this husband kneels again—not in defeat, but in surrender. Let him return to You not out of fear, but out of recognition that no one else can love, forgive, or restore like You can.
Write a new chapter in this family’s story, Lord. One marked by grace, reconciliation, and Your redeeming power.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
